Prayers for those working toward a Culture of Life, for those working in the Culture of Death Industry, and for the victims of the Death Culture. The victims might include children, expectant mothers, the elderly, the disabled, and Death Row Inmates. Most of the prayers are written, but some are expressed in song. The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants offers a Prayer Witness that begins with Mass, includes Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, walking to an abortion facility, praying the Rosary, and ends with Benediction.

"Lord, help me to make time today to serve you in those who are most in need of encouragement or assistance."

Introduction to Prayers

We are led into battle with the Prayer to St. Michael. Our final prayer in this section is a beautiful song to Our Lady, known by the title, Rosa Mystica. Most will recognize this Ave Maria by the composer J. Archadelt. I am blessed to have been named after these two great Prayer Warriors. My surname, Bryo, is Greek for Moss, a green, velvety plant, which reminds us of God’s creation, including the human person, who is made in God’s image, with innate dignity.

Opening Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel - Defend us in Battle

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend me in battle.  Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen

 Parable of the Lost Sheep

The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So to them he addressed this parable. “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, “Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.” I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

Trust in God’s Mercy

In Spanish / En Españo

Gracious Father,
I thank you for the mercy you have shown in forgiving my sins and for the peace that comes from being reconciled with you and with your Church.

O God, you are faithful, and you never abandon those who hope in you. I know that my redemption from sin and death has been purchased at the cost of your Son’s blood. In return for this priceless gift, I resolve today to renew my trust in your unfailing mercy.

In times of doubt, when painful memories of past sins threaten to destroy the peace you have given, let the power of your Holy Spirit cast out all self-condemnation and give me greater confidence in your word of pardon.

Teach me to encourage others so they, too, may seek your tender compassion and come to know your peace, which nothing can take away.

I pray this in the name of Jesus, your Son, in whom you have restored me to life. Amen.

A Special Video Prayer for All Artists from Pope Francis:

The Pope Video is a global initiative developed by the Pope World Prayer Network (Apostleship of Prayer) to assist in the dissemination of monthly intentions of the Holy Father related to the challenges facing humanity.

Stretching my own, wild imagination I include myself among the artists for whom Pope Francis prays. I am truly in need of these, and any prayers that may be offered.

The Parable of the Lost Son

In Spanish / En Español

Then he said, “A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me.’ So the father divided the property between them. After a few days, the younger son collected all his be- longings and set off to a distant country where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation. When he had freely spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he found himself in dire need. So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens who sent him to his farm to tend the swine. And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed, but nobody gave him any. Coming to his senses he thought, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger. I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”‘ So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.’ But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.’ Then the celebration began. Now the older son had been out in the field and, on his way back, as he neared the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing. He called one of the servants and asked what this might mean. The servant said to him, ‘Your brother has returned and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ He became angry, and when he refused to enter the house, his father came out and pleaded with him. He said to his father in reply, ‘Look, all these years I served you and not once did I disobey your orders; yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends. But when your son returns who swallowed up your property with prostitutes, for him you slaughter the fattened calf.’ He said to him, ‘My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours. But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.'”

Intercessions for Those Involved in Abortion

In Spanish / En Español

For those who are tempted by abortion,
that God may plant in their hearts
a love for the treasure of life
and the strength to protect it;
we pray to the Lord:

For all doctors,
that inspired by their oath to protect life,
they may know the grace of repentance,
serving others as true disciples
of the Gospel of Life;
we pray to the Lord:

For all nurses,
that inspired by the gentle compassion,
of Mary, the Mother of God,
they might serve as guardians of life
in every moment of its existence;
we pray to the Lord:

For all hospital administrators,
that with wisdom and respect for life,
they might lead those who work with them,
for the nurturing and protection of all life;
we pray to the Lord:

For parents who have lost a child to abortion
and whose hearts are closed to the mercy of God,
that they might know the grace of repentance,
confession and the healing embrace of the Father;
we pray to the Lord:

For parents overwhelmed by grief and remorse
at the loss of their child to abortion,
that Jesus the shepherd,
so rich in mercy and compassion,
might heal their broken hearts;
we pray to the Lord:

For all who counsel the parents of aborted children,
that God might reward them for the crosses they bear
and grant them the words of wisdom to lead lost souls home to him,
we pray to the Lord:

For each child aborted from his mother’s womb,
that from their place in heaven
they might intercede for their mothers and fathers
for peace and healing and the gift of true repentance;
we pray to the Lord:

Thus says the LORD:
In Ramah is heard the sound of moaning,
of bitter weeping!
Rachel mourns her children,
she refuses to be consoled
because her children are no more.

Thus says the LORD:
Cease your cries of mourning,
wipe the tears from your eyes.
The sorrow you have shown
shall have its reward,…
There is hope for your future. …

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

On a beautiful commute to my sister's home to visit my young niece and nephew, my father and I heard a lovely rendition of The Peace Prayer by the Westminster Choir, ending with an angelic descant. This is a beautiful prayer for those suffering the effects of having had an abortion.

Prayer for Healing

Eternal Father,
Source of all mercy and love,
out of love for us you sent your Son,
and willed that blood and water
flow from his side to cleanse us of sin
and restore lost innocence.

Hear the cry of each woman who mourns
the loss of her child to abortion.
Forgive her sin, restore her to your grace,
and still the terror of her heart
with a peace beyond all understanding.
Through the intercession
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of all tenderness and our Mother,
strengthen her faith in you.
Give her the consolation to believe
that her child is now living in the Lord.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
who conquered sin and death,
and who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer to your Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
To whom God's love
commits me here,
Ever this day,
be at my side,
To light and guard,
Rule and guide.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Raphael, Archangel

God who in Thy ineffable goodness hast rendered blessed Raphael the conductor of thy faithful in their journeys, we humbly implore Thee that we may be conducted by him in the way of salvation, and experience his help in the maladies of our souls. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Gabriel, Archangel

O loving messenger of the Incarnation, descend upon all those for whom I wish peace and happiness. Spread your wings over the cradles of the new-born babes, O thou who didst announce the coming of the Infant Jesus.

Give to the young a lily petal from the virginal scepter in your hand. Cause the Ave Maria to re-echo in all hearts that they may find grace and joy through Mary.

Finally, recall the sublime words spoken on the day of the Annunciation-- "Nothing is impossible with God," and repeat them in hours of trial--to all I love--that their confidence in Our Lord may be reanimated, when all human help fails. Amen.

Musical Prayer from a Child in Heaven to His/Her Mother

Prayer from Heaven by Dennis Bowling. A musical prayer from a child to his/her mother on earth. This song asks that the mother forgive herself, and accept the Mercy of Jesus. Commentary follows.

The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mediatrix for all graces to us from God. Mary prefers the Rosary to all other prayers. The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants encourage the Prayer of the Rosary in their witness and service as sidewalk counselors at the abortion facilities, modern-day Golgatha. We invoke the Rosary and the prayer to St. Michael to assist us in resisting temptations by the evil one. Reflect upon these meditations while reciting the Rosary, or read them independently during leisure time.

Pro Life Meditations for Mysteries of the Rosary

Many groups list ProLife Meditations for all Mysteries of the Rosary. The Mysteries of the Rosary give an overview of the Life of Christ. The Joyful Mysteries tell of the Birth of Jesus and early boyhood. The Luminous Mysteries tell the story of the Ministry of Jesus in Public. The Sorrowful Mysteries account for the Suffering and death of Jesus at the end of His Life. The Glorious Mysteries record His Resurrection from the dead, His triumph over sin, and ends with the Crowning of Mary as the Queen of Heaven.

The websites below offer Pro Life meditations for the Rosary, and many other prayers. The first one is a booklet from the Helpers. Their Rosary Meditations are scattered throughout the publication. The Helper’s Prayer Witness, consisting of Mass, Adoration in the church, Walk to the abortion facility, with recitation of the Rosary, followed by Benediction at he church, is a beautiful Catholic Prayer.

The Catholic Bishops list Rosary Meditations and many other prayers for the workers in the Culture of Death facilities, and all the victims of this culture. Their post-abortion section, Hope After Abortion, is a good source of prayers for mothers who are victims of the abortion industry.

Prayer of Belief: An African Credo and The Sign of the Cross

No Copyright intended. With Lyrics: DO YOU BELIEVE? YES, I BELIEVE (HYMN) 03 FEB DO YOU BELIEVE? YES, I BELIEVE Chorus: Do you believe? Yes, I believe (2x) Mighty Father I believe, yes, I believe, Creator of heaven and earth, yes, I believe, I believe in Jesus Christ, yes, I believe, Everlasting Son of God, yes, I believe.

Beautiful, Colorful, Musical Nigerian Credo.

Reflection on our beliefs with respect to the gift of Life:

We believe Life begins at conception, and God is the Author of Life.

We believe all humans are made in the image of God, our Creator, with innate dignity.

We believe in the presence of sin, evil, and in the coming of the Judgement by the Author.

We believe: “…as you did it to one of the least of these, … you did it to Me”.

We believe for evil to exist, requires that good men do nothing to alleviate the injustice.

We believe in the Author’s infinite ability to love, forgive, and show mercy to sinners.

We believe in and pray for a Metanoia, and zealous action to promote the Dignity of Life.
